Alternative Medicine/sinus drainage linked to stomach bacterial imbalance?

QuestionQUESTION: While doing research online about why I might have a sore throat but not feel badly or have any other symptoms, I came across a response on this website. The link is as follows:
http://en.allexperts.com/q/Alternative-Medicine-991/Toddler-Cough.htm.
My question is this: Last Monday I came up with what I believe was food poisoning from expired eggs. I was sick for approximately 5 days. The Monday after that I came down with a sore throat and cough. It has lasted for 5 days so far. I do not feel poorly (aside from the occasional headache which may or may not be related). Could the bacteria imbalance in my stomach have led to my sore throat and coughing? In paragraphs 7 & 8 he mentions that, "If these yeast cells aren't kept under control they can actually spread throughout the body, and to the sinuses." Could this be what has happened in my case? I don't really like yogurt, so would probiotics help me?
Thanks.

ANSWER: While it is remotely possible, the sequence of symptoms you give are those for the summer flu and even acute seasonal allergy exposure.
The paragraph 7&8 are simply not true

QUESTION: I had ruled out allergies because I have never had allergies before, and I am 40 years old. Wouldn't the flu produce more symptoms than just a severe sore throat?
Thanks for the quick response btw.
AnswerActually allergies accumulate throughout your lifetime so you never gget too old for allergies to occur
Actually these are the flu symptoms for most people
In either case yogurt would help the stomach and bowel, sorry I missed that part of the questions
Omega-6 fats and nutrient deficiency in our foods underly much of our illnesses including the ability to get the flu and allergies
