Question
Hello, I have an ankle that was severely broken years ago and still has hardware in it. The pain has worsen and I am having difficulty getting around on it. Can you tell me if Reflexology will help with the arthritis and swelling? Could you recommend some other therapy that might help me in managing the pain. I would greatly appreciate your assistance. Thank you...

Answer
Dear Angelina,
Reflexology would be difficult if applied to that foot, but might be very beneficial using the hand on that side of the body.  Now, massage to the ankle itself might be very helpful and either heat or cold applications.  Soaking the ankle in warm salt and soda water often helps with pain.  Equal parts of salt and soda in the water.  Those are some of the simpler solutions for now.  There are herbal fomentations and poultices that may be of help but they are a bit more complicated and difficult to find.  If you don't receive relief from these suggestions, write back and I'll try to help you locate some herbal remedies.
Kind Regards,
