Question
My daughter had non stop bleeding since beginning her periods two years ago.She is on tri-sprintec and it is working to regulate her periods but I am concerned about her health. What supplements should she take to offset the damage the drug will do to her?
Thank you

Answer
Hi Deb,
There is no evidence that oral contraceptives interfere with the absorption of nutrients or deplete nutrients. There is no specific supplemet required by women taking oral contraceptives. A multivitamin with mineral supplemet and a balanced diet would be adequate. Smoking should be avoided when taking oral contraceptives as it puts the person at risk for developing thrombosis.
Thank you for using Allexperts
