QuestionQUESTION: Hi. I have been trying to get pregnant for 7 months now and started doing research online about Chinese medicine/herbs. I started taking Dong Quai and Vitex and a tinksure of Maca everyday for about the last 30 days. I ususally get my period around 35-37 days. I am not at 40 days and havent gotten it. I took a pregnancy test this morning and it was clearning Negative. Please help me. Did I do something wrong?"
ANSWER: There can be several reasons why you are not getting pregnant. Low cholesterol being one of them. vitex, also know as Chase Tree helps with excessive estrogne. If that was not your issues, then it could elongate the cycle. Vitex can reduce sexual desire as well but ususaly more with men than women. I would suggest working with someone to find out why you are not getting pregnant.
There are multipe reasons and working on the root cause is very important. Pituitary can be another reason, thyroid another.

QUESTION: I am pretty sure I dont have low cholesterol. I am 5' 4" and weigh about 120lbs. I am in good health and eat well. I dont think that exessive estrogne was a problem so that could be it. I guess I will just wait and see what happens. I was planning on going to by Gyno soon to see what my next step will be...I was just curious as to what the herbs might have done. Thanks for answering so fast!
AnswerYou are welcome. I would be sure to find an herbalist in your area which works with this to confirm the thyroid and pituitary are being supported correctly and confirm your cholesterol is not below 180. Progesterone can also be an issue as well.
