Question QUESTION: Is it safe to take L-arginine, ginseng, and ginkgo daily?
ANSWER: Hello Bob,
You did not say if you were on any medications. Ginkgo is a blood thinner as well but most people use it for circulation and memory. If you are not on a blood thinner then this would be fine.
You also did not say what kind of ginseng. I am guessing you mean Siberian Ginseng which is or should now be called Eluthero on the lable. This is find to take daily. If it is another ginseng that is fine as well but Eluthero is an adaptagen and better taken long term than other ginsengs. Other ginsengs should be taken for only the duration needed to fix the issue. Do not take Eluthero with acute disease, high fever, severe inflammation, hyperactivie or extreme nervous anxiety.
L-Arginine, (an amino acid) should also be fine to take as long as you are not on a blood thinner as well.
You can find all these supplements and more at my website at

A-Arginine is called RG-Max.

QUESTION: Thank you Tonja.
For clarification, I am not on any medications. The ginseng is Panax Ginseng, not Siberian Ginseng.
The information and link to the website was and is helpful but I wanted to be sure on one thing.
You mentioned that L-Arginine should be fine as long as one is not on a blood thinner. Even though Ginkgo is a blood thinner, is it still ok to take with L-Arginine?
Answer Panax or Korean Ginseng as many refer to it, has no toxic effects but is contrindicated in acute diseases, high fevers, severe inflammation, hyperactivity or extreme, nervous anxiety. It should not be taken if you are taking in caffeine. This should not be rused by those who are robust atheltic types. This is more for the eldery, weak and feeble or skicly. Taking this when you are young can burn up your vital energy. This is a very heating herb.
Concerning the L-Arginine, don't take it with blood thinning medications. You can check with your pharmacist to see if you are on any medications like that.
Concerning L-Arginine if you have diarrhea discontinue. If you have kidney failure or liver disease you will want to be carefully monitored as they may not adepuqtely metabolize and excrete L-arginine. If you have had a heart attack recently don't take this. There is conflicing results on this though.
