Question Eric
I have been researching magnesium. I dont know if I am deficient, but I have never eaten much of the foods containing it.
I do seem to have some of the symptoms of deficiency, and it has been recommended for metabolic syndrome which I have.
The confusion arises because it is often formulated with calcium, I think because it makes calcium more absorpable. Some research says calcium negates its effect.
Do you know anything about this? Can I take it with calcium, which is readily availble retail, or do I need to get it by itself online? Or maybe I dont even need it?
Thanks!
Answer Hi Barrymore
I am not a proponent of automatically adding magnesium supplemeny when a person is on calcium supplement. Some belive that the magnesium balances the calcium. Only a blood test can detect if you need to supplement with magnesium. Unless you are exoeriencing symptoms of magnesium deficiency (muscle cramps) I would leave it out for now.
Thank you for using Allexperts
Sincerely,
