Alternative Medicine/bee pollen

Question
Do you know if there are long term health risks associated with the consumption of bee pollen?  And are there benefits associated with consuming bee pollen significant enough to support its consumption?  I have read what seems like opposite positions related to its benefits/risks.  I do have some seasonal allergies and read that even though it is associated with benefiting those with allergy symptoms, that it can also pose a significant threat to allergy prone individuals.

A friend of mine gave me some and for the last two days, I stuck one granule beneath my tongue on the first day, and then two granules on the second day, to test for any reaction. I have not had any reaction. Do you know if as little as a teaspoon could cause a significant adverse reaction?

Answer
Hello Ceciia,

Some people have allergic attacks from using bee pollen, just as if they had been stung by a bee.  Some have had itching, dizziness and difficulty swallowing. You are doing the right thing to begin slowly if you are concerned.

There are benefits to taking bee pollen but I only use bee pollen with my clients if no herbals will help the same issue. When you go on the interent you will always be able to find two sides of any subject.

You might want to listen to my phone conferencing call on allergies to help give you more answers or answers which are better for you as there is a lot more to overcoming allergies than just taking bee pollen. Diet can have a lot to do with this as well as making sure you drink enough water a day and have good bowel movments.
