Question
I HAVE BROWN SPOTS ON MY FACE AND ARMS.(MAINLY ON THE FRONT SIDE OF MY ARMS)THEY GET DARKER WHEN IM IN THE SUN.   HOW DO I GET RID OF THEM? ALSO LOTS OF WHITE SPOTS ON MY ARMS. HELP PLEASE

Answer
Hello Angela,
Thanks for your question.  The best way to treat any skin damage is by preventing it.  That means exposure to the sun judiciously: avoiding sunburns, using a low-chemical sunscreen if you are going to have prolonged exposure, and wearing protective clothing at midday.  We do need some sun exposure, for overall health.  To an extent damage will occur with aging & exposure, especially according to your genetics.  But keeping a high antioxidant status with diet & supplements may be helpful in delaying or decreasing some of the damage to the skin.
Also, be sure that you see a dermatologist if you have any suspicious spots, or even regularly as a screening if there are many areas. Early screening is key for treating the most serious consequences of skin damage.
In health,
Dr Conner
