Question
If a female is on  birth control (oral contraceptive),and she  has preexisting reoccurring problems such as Urinary Tract Infections, yeast infections, and bladder infections, and she seeks out herbs to take to help correct these problems and correct any other females problems, how will the herbs and the oral contraceptive react to each other?

Answer
Hi Lisa,
Herbal medications are not systematically studied for interactions with regular medications. What we have are only anecdotal reports. It is not certain how herbs would interact with oral contraceptives.
Thank you for using Allexperts
