Question
Hello,

I am taking a variety of vitamin supplements currently to help aid my issues of unintentional weight-loss and GI complaints.

*Whole Foods multi-vitamin (1 daily)
*B-Complex (2/day)
*Probiotic (3/day)
*Digestive Enzyme (going to start soon)

Can you give me any feedback on this?  Thank you very much,

Evan

Answer
Hello Evan,
Thanks for your question.  That seems like a good basic regime for GI complaints, but make sure you know what you're dealing with first.  There's many diagnoses that come to mind when you say weight loss and GI, ranging from minor & treatable, to more serious & requiring further work-up before I could say these supplements (or anything else for that matter) are completely safe.  And it's always wise with GI issues to examine the diet closely, reagardless of the actual diagnosis it can almost always help.  If you can, I'd suggest seeing an ND or holistic MD or chiropractor in your area, because supplements may help alleviate symptoms but without getting at the cause of the problem they will eventually come back or get worse.
Good luck,
Dr Conner
