Alternative Medicine/Breast Cancer
Expert: Glen Aukerman, M.D. - 9/28/2009
QuestionQUESTION: Dr Aukerman,
I have asked a number of questions in the past on various subjects and found your responses to be very helpful.
My current question concerns supplementation for breast cancer. First let me say this is for a 10 year old dog, but since virtually everything in human medicine and supplementation for cancer is being used in dogs (comparative oncology) according to my vets, I am hoping you will be able to guide me with your experience.
One particular supplement I am interested in is Melatonin. I have seen numerous articles touting the benefits of this in human patients, even saw an article by a veterinarian saying the same.

What is your experience with it, do you agree?
I am also interested in supplements containing sulforaphane, namely OncoPlex, have you ever used it and do you feel it can be helpful for this condition.
Please make any recommendations you seem fit, I am open to any suggestions. Thank you for your time.
John
