Alternative Medicine/Herbal interactions with other herbs

Question
I have been taking a Shaklee supplement called Nutriferon and have done fine with it.   It has a blend of plant extracts.  I have recently started taking a Kroeger Herb product called Wormwood Combination.  Would you be able to tell me if there would be any negatve interactions with the herbs in these two products.  If you need more specific herb names I can send them but it would take a little time to list them.  Thank you for your help.  Evans

Answer
Hi Evans,
Herbal supplement are not systematically studied as to their interactions in the same way that traditional medications are. In my experience when I called one of the suppliers of herbal supplements about one of their product and a suspected side effect, the "medical doctor" on staff was not aware of any. Yet, upon further research through other sources it was evident the the side effect of this particular substance was well documented elsewhere (a German herbal text). It would take a lot of research into individual ingredient to see if there are any interactions between these two products. This type of research is beyond the scope of this free service.
Thank you for using Allexperts
