Question
i recently went to a doctor i dont normally see and he didnt ask for an updated med list from me or ask what meds i was on so i started wondering if i should be taking these new meds with my current pcos meds . he prescribed atenolol 25mg, tizanidine 2mg 3xday, and diclofenac 50mg 2xday.. i am on metformin and spironolactone and provera for my pcos

i have had high bp but recently it had been dropping really low so i stopped taking my bp med lisinopril which is why this doctor prescribed me the atenolol because he said it would be better for my migraines.

i have frequent neck pain and migraines and recently found what my docter thinks is a cervical rib at the level of c1 so im supposed to take these meds and come back in a week but i read the side effects and im scared to take them.

i am also trying to get pregnant so im not sure if these meds will cause a problem with that.

Answer
Hi Kayla,
It is a good idea to stay off lisinopril if are trying to get pregnant. Atenolol can lower blood pressure, so you need to monitor espcially since you said your blood pressure had dropped too low. Use diclofenac sparingly. It is hard on the stomach and kidneys.
Thank you for using Allexperts
