Question
47 years old.  western medicine is not helping.  can you please help?  God bless.
Female hx: diverticulitis, endometriosis, hernias, retrocele
8 months ago, I suddenly quit feeling the urge to deficate. I would also get constant low-level pain over upper quadrants, and intermittant high acute episodic pain, mostly upper middle. I swelled up like a balloon and went to ER dx with FOS (full of shit) given Mag citrate and sent home.
The acute pain episodes occur after eating usually, and feel like something is going to explode, like my stomach is being pulled in two.  It is a gnawing pain and pressure.  It is relieved by pepcid (but not completely) and is about 8 on 1-10scale.  The constant pain is diffuse and is "aching" about a 4-5.  I am NOT constipated, the problem is my bowels are "numb" and are not moving.  When I do have a BM from the mag citrate, I dont feel it.  I have to look to see if something is coming out.  All sensation is gone, I do not feel the bowel moving, the stool moving, or the stool coming out.  A sitz marker study revealed markers in transverse colon after 7 days.
So you can see the stool is not moving to the rectum.
I had to do enemas every couple days, and lived like that for 5 months.  Then it went away, and I returned to normal bowel movements with feeling and no pain.
I was normal for 7 months or so ..and now its back.  Ive already been to the ER for the sever abd pain.  fOUND wbc13,000 AND SMALL BLOOD IN URINE.  i HAVE HAD A low grade temp 99.1-99.7.  I rarely get hungry.
I am so scared.  The MD did tests for 5 months, found retrocele and "colonic immotility".  Colonoscopy reveaqled 7 polyps (removed) and was unremarkable, endoscopy revealed hiatal hernia.  I take suboxone which can cause a Narcotic bowel syndrome, which could account for thr colonic immotility, but not for the parathesias nor pain.
One gallbladder scan revealed "sludge".  The MD keeps saying its probably my gallbladder and I need to get it out.  I do not buy that as it does not account for these symptoms (except acute episodic pAIN).  I can find no relief except using pepcid for the acute pain.  My bowels are becoming flaccid or something from habitual enema use.  i used to be able to retain an enema, and now cannot.  I just started a new job in nursing and cant miss work.  I also have a C6 radiculopathy.
and strangely, both my calves are killing me when I walk.
OK, Good luck.  I pray you can help.  Thank you so much.  What can I do?  What tests?   What herbs?  HELP!!!!

Answer
It sound like you need a whole lifestyle change and dietary change.  The best think I can think of is to go to my web site and look under the articles on changeing diet and lifestyle.  Follow them to a tee and see if you can find a health food store that can help or a holistic doctor naturopath in your area that can assist you.  My web site is naturalcomfortteas.com  Jayne
