Alternative Medicine/Negative Interaction

Question
I have been taking red yeast rice capsules to keep my cholesterol down. My doctor has prescribed metoprolol, a beta blocker, for high blood pressure and angina. Would there be a negative interaction between the supplement and the beta blocker?

Answer
Hi - because I am not a pharmacist or doctor, I cannot make any recommendations to you with medications.   I would advise to discuss this with either of these professionals so I don't steer you in the wrong direction.

Thank you and wish I could be more assistance.   Best    Suzanne
