Alternative Medicine/teen with odd

Question
Hello. I am hoping you may offer some advice, as i am at my wits end! My 15 year old daughter has odd. The doctor wanted her to start meds, but my husband and i am against this, as they are not natural, and more harm can come than good, in my opinion. We purchased an herb from our local health food store called stress relief, and it helped for awhile, but now it seems she may have built up a tolerance to it. Do you know of any herbs or vitamins that we can try to help her with Odd? She is starting high school this fall, and i am scared out of my mind that her odd will really flare up and she will be out of control again. Last year, she failed almost all of her classes, was suspended many times, and she talked back to teachers. I really don't know what to do, but I love her too much to give her meds that a chemist made, that will only harm her body.
Thank you for listening.

Answer
Dear Carissa

I give you a lot of credit for seeing the value of doing this naturally.  I can make some recommendations.  You probably know the natural approach may take a little longer to rebuild healthy cells but like you said, it is long lasting verse a quick fix.

First of all, my approach is to use Shaklee.  I only recommend Shaklee as I have been using Shaklee for almost 20 years for myself and my family.  Shaklee has been around 56 years and is natural and the science and peer reviewed studies show it is effective and safe.

Here are some steps:

1.  Begin a foundational program.  Shaklee's program is the essentials, using Vitalizer strips which is a multi, b-complex (which is helpful for the brain, Vit. C, E, optiflora.   Add protein shakes, Shaklee has a few to offer:  Meal shakes might be the choice for a teen (come in vanilla and chocolate), there is also Cinch protein with either soy or whey or Energizing soy.  She may need additional b-complex for this.

We have a product called Stress relief which would be a good addition.  You can look up the ingredients and compare them to what she took.  There are other supplements you can add later if needed such as valerian.  If she is subject to slight depression with the ODD, St. Johns wort is a possibility.  I would begin right now with the foundational Vitalizer, protein and stress relief and we can proceed from there.

2.  Do you use non-toxic cleaners and laundry care?  Often with challenges like this affecting the brain, toxins can be adversely affecting her chemically and bringing sensitivity.  Shaklee has a line of non-toxic and environmentally cleaning products available.

3.  I am a life coach and at some point if she is open to it, I would be happy to work with her if she would like some stress relieving techniques and processes to keep her on track.  They are simple to use and will help her if she is willing to use them.

You can learn more about the Shaklee products at www.integrativewellness.myshaklee.com and the coaching at www.empoweringserenity.com

You can also reach me at suzanne@empoweringserenity.com.  I would be happy to work with you if you would like.   We have seen amazing results both with the Shaklee and with coaching.  ODD may or may not go away but if she is willing to let you help her so she can get her life on track and become the person you know she is inside.   Let me know how I can be of support.  Many blessings   Suzanne
