Alternative Medicine/low stomach acid

Question
Eric, you may or may not know the answer to this, I tried to google it. If someone has LOW stomach acid, it seems that taking not just something like apple cider vinegar would help, but also other things that increase stomach acid, like citrus fruits, coffee, alcohol, etc. But I assume that's not the case and inadvisable. But why wouldn't they help for low stomach acid?? Thanks!

Answer
Hi Lee,
Consuming acididc foods increase stomach acidity temporarily only as these acids would  be neutralized by other gastrointestinal secretions. These acidic foods may help with the initial process of dogestion if consumed in conjuction with  a meal.
Thank you for using Allexperts
