Alternative Medicine/Can you beat thinning hair naturally?

Question
Hi Sharon,

I am a male in my early 40's and have thinning hair. I wondered what your opinion was on whether I can correct this with natural methods?

Thanks,

Answer
Hi Steve
some benefit may be gained by using natural hair tonics made with essential oils.  There is some evidence that a mix of lavender, rosemary, cedarwood and peppermint essential oils can not only halt the process but stimulate regrowth.
Ensure you purchase good therapeutic-grade essential oils.  They need to be mixed with a carrier oil (even amounts to make a 5% dilution) and massaged into the scalp on a daily basis.
It is a long-term project!
All the best.
Sharon
