Alternative Medicine/6 year old daughter

QuestionMy six year old daughter had her tonsils removed at the age of 2 (almost 3) due to repeated strep. The doctors told me that it should take care of her repeated strep. It did not. I had her on Rio Vida for the first year after they were removed and she did not get strep one time. However, it is almost like she became immune to it and she began to get strep again. She has had it 3 times this year and I am headed to the doctor again today. We see a chirporactor/kinesiologist also who gave me VRD-PRO. I used this on her 2 weeks ago when it seemed she was coming down with strep and it went away. But she is having headaches and complaining with her belly so I am afraid it is back. Thus, the reason we are headed to the pediatrician today. I do not like antiobiotics! Is there anything I could be giving her other than acidophilus to keep away the strep? She usually does not complain with a sore throat. It is headache, stomach ache, and very rarely throwing up. She is eating good right now but I don't know why the daily headache. It hurts right in the middle of her forehead. Thanking you in advance for your advice.
AnswerHello Lisa
Thanks for your interest. With lowered immune function and multiple symptoms as your daughter is experiencing, there is a reason. Common ones are environmental allergies, food sensitivities, stress, and lifestyle habits (not enough sleep, etc). You may want to take a look at these areas before trying other natural remedies. You may want to consult a naturopathic doctor (naturopathic.org) or a holistic MD (holistic.org) for guidance in these areas. They would do a complete history and possibly labs. Whatever you try will be more effective if you can remove the cause first.
Good luck in your search.
