QuestionHello,
I was just wondering what remedies I could take to get rid of my acne. My parents are currently taking me to a dermatologist, and also I have gone to a Chinese herbalist. My father doesn't trust the herbalist because he thinks they will make you fatter because of all the nutrition. Is that even possible? I don't see how cleansing your insides will make you become fatter. And someone else told me to eat/drink a lot of tomatoes everyday as well.

Generally, when going to a chinese herbalist, they would prescribe something to detoxify your liver in order to get rid of the acne. I do not believe such products can cause one to gain weight though. However these days people are afraid to take chinese herbs because of how many have been tested to be contaminated with pollutants.
Nutrition is the key to healing acne, as is enough sleep per night. I know of some people who get acne even though they drink enough water and eat good food. The cause in their case is sleep depravation. You must make sure you get to be early every night.

Do not go to a dermatologist, for it will be a waste of your time. The stuff they prescribe never addresses the cause of the acne, and often has terrible side effects.
My advice is this; to begin with every morning drink 2 glasses of warm water, before brushing your teeth that is, and make sure it is not tap water but filtered water.
Then i advise you take fruta-vida. This product falls into the category of "super-foods". It will strengthen your immune system, provide natural vitamins, minerals, fatty acids and antioxidants.

Dietary Recommendations:
I generally advise people to cut out all soy products, except fermented soy. Miso, tempeh and soy-sauce are healthy. [fermented]
Soy contains goitrogens which depress thyroid function. It also contains phytic acid which hinders the bodies' ability to absorb proteins, calcium, magnesium, iron and zinc.
In general it is an enzyme inhibitor.
Also, please make sure you avoid all artificial sweeteners:
splenda, sucralose, aspartame, nutra-sweet, equal, acesulfame potassium.
Splenda/sucralose have become very popular these days and are just as bad if not worse than aspartame. These sweeteners are very toxic and are found in store bought vitamins, protein powders, anything sugar-free, gum, chocolate, soda... etc. Please read labels carefully
and cut out all artificial sweeteners. This is very important.
Soy and artificial sweeteners both weaken the immune system. And the immune system is the key to healing any illness. Therefore the more we can support immune related health, the better.
Cut out all margarine and hydrogenated fats. Cut out canola, rapeseed and soybean oils. These are very unhealthy.
Replace with butter, ghee, unrefined coconut oil, sesame oil, and virgin olive oil.
Generally 7 glasses of water per day is a good idea to help flush out toxins from the body. Warm or room temperature water, never cold.
The warm water you will be drinking every morning before brushing your teeth will specifically help to cleanse the body on a deeper level, so keep it up.
