Hello Ms Martin,
My daughter scratched my cornea April 2003.  The injury healed, but I developed what's called a recurrent cornea erosion. February 2004, I had PTK performed where the doctor used the laser to remove the top layer of the cornea so that new cells could grow back.  Well, the cornea still has not healed and the doctors do not know why.  It seems it is very rare that the cornea doesn't heal in these cases.  The doctors are going to scrape the unhealthy cells again and hope it heals this time. But I'd like to help my body with the healing process.
 
So...do you have any suggestions that would help the healing process of the cornea?  I'm open to herbs and other alternative cures.

Hi Sandra, OUCH!

I know the pain I went through for 2 years and I would rather go through labour than problems with my eyes again.

My story is similar to yourself, my right eye was scratched by my baby son then a few months later my left eye was scatched by a little girl accidentaly.

these kind of things happen all the time and normally the eye heals itself, but like you mine didnt, Ive had patches,contact lenses,drops, creams,you name it Ive had it, until finally the specialist at a loss said; "it must be genetic" in other words, they dont have a clue.

the dr said; "you are going blind and there's nothing we can do" by this time I had already lost half the sight in my right eye, and they said my left eye was starting to go the same way.

with this gloomy outlook I went to a woman who practices "alternative medicine" she said it is not "genetic" I take tablets for epilepsy and she said "any tablet taken long term eats away at the vitamins in your body" I had no vitiamin B and that is needed to maintain healthy eyes and to heal the eyes.

Now personally I thought it wouldnt work, it seemed to simple,but I did as I was instructed and took 1 Vitamin B Complex daily and 1 Multivitamin + Minerals daily.

three days later I had an appointment with the specialist and he looked and looked at my eyes and said "well I dont know whats happened today, I can see minor scarring from past abrasions but nothing to worry about" his parting words were "it is genetic Brenda so you will be back"

that was 8 years ago now, and not only did my eyes heal completely, I was told to "put my glasses away in a drawer as I no longer needed them, I had 20/20 vision" by an optiocian a few years ago.

I take my tablets religously every day and I have never had any more bother with my eyes and as an added bonus I have never taken another seizure since then either.

go to a health food store and ask for Vitamin B Complex tablets and Multivatamin + mineral tablets but dont take those you buy in a chemist as these are bound with chemicals and the body rejects them, make sure you get them from a health food store as these are bound with natural substances so the body readily absorbs them.

If you take these daily you will not need any more treatment from the hospital, they are only treating the symptom, not the cause.
