Alternative Medicine/Hair Loss

Question
Hello!

I'm experiencing some hair loss and the actual strands of hair have become thinner and I'm thinking it may be related to hormone changes from menopause. I'm trying to figure out what natural substances might be good to improve my hair. I've read that natural progesterone is good, though I don't know where to find it, but I've also heard that a lack of estrogen is the problem. Also I read that the problem is the estrogen and progesterone are out of balance, or maybe there is too little of both of them.

Anyway, do you have any suggestions of some natural substances I should be taking that might alleviate my hair problem?

Thank you.

Answer
Hi LOretta,
Estrogen changes such as occur around menopause can affect hair growth pattern. Also changes in thyroid hormone can affect hair growth pattern.
Please have both checked by your doctor.
I do not know of any natural product that guarantees hair growth.
