Alternative Medicine/Herbal uses

Question
I have several lilac bushes growing on my property.  Are there any herbal uses for lilacs?

Answer
Hello Zoe

There aren't any that I'm aware of...I don't know for sure that they are even safe for internal consumption.

If you like the fragrance, though, don't hesitate to bring the blooms in for aroma benefits. It has a gently calming quality on mood, but not as strong of an effect as some other flowers / oils like lavender.

I wouldn't use it internally or topically without doing more research, but if you enjoy the scent, go for it with the fragrance and enjoy those beautiful blooms while they last!

Best Wishes,
Baihu
