Question
I am concerned about stomach bleeding assosciated with the long term use of nsaids. Would dgl-licorice be good to prevent this and if so when should one take it?--Before, after, or with the nsaids and how much?
Thanks--steve

Answer
Hi Steve,
I am not sure about the effectiveness of licorice in this case. I konw antacids and acid blocking drugs such as Famotidine (Pepcid) and Ranitidine (Zantac) have been shown to be effective in decreasing stomach bleeds associated with NSAID's.
