Answer
Sallie,
It's very difficult to evaluate the effectiveness of this massage tool without seeing it or using it.  In general, portable massage units can be effective for providing some relief in minor muscle aches and pains.  But in-person massage is much more effective, particularly if you have any chronic pains or conditions.  A massage tool is of limited use in these cases.  If you are unable to find a qualified massage therapist in your area, you can still learn the basics of massage to use on yourself and others, then trade massage with a friend or spouse.  Reflexology is also something you can learn basic techniques for and use on yourself.
Thanks for your question.  In health, Dr. Conner
