Alternative Medicine/Synvisc alternative

Question
I am against animal testing in all forms so when I read that Synvisc which I had for degenerative arthritis in my knees had ingredients from rooster combs, I was not happy.  Could you tell me if there is a better alternative for my painful knees that doesn't result from or use of animals?

Answer
Hi Karen,
Synvisc is not availablr in synthetic form for knee injection. The alternative is to take oral anti-inflamatory medications or steroid injections into the joint. But then these were also probably first tested on animals before permitted for human use.
Thank you for using Allexperts
