Question Dear Sir or Madam
My name is Anna Ormandy. I am a student at the University of Canterbury in
New Zealand. As part of an assignment I have been asked to complete a
research project via email on Alternative Medicine. My question to is Do you
believe Alternative Medicine should be scientifically tested or should we keep
our confidence in centuries of positive results? What is your opinion on this
topic?
Your time and prompt response is greatly appreciated.
Your Sincerely Anna Ormandy
Answer Dear friend Anna,
In my opinion, I think that any science, and for me that includes alternative or traditional medicine (whatever is called), should be scientfically tested.
However, the scientific test methodology should be adequate for the thing to be tested, and that, I'm not sure if it is always achievable, since there aren't, yet, instruments that can measure some of the "things" (subtil energies, etc.)involved.
The scientific tests are very important, although, in cases that that methodology is not able (now, and with the present instruments, that can change in future)to give clear results (yes, some specific therapy is effective, or no, its a fake) I think that we must also keep in mind the effective results for centuries that we can't explain in this moment (but, certainly in a short or longer future).
