Alternative Medicine/caffeine

Question
Hi!
I am 48.
In very good health, except for being overweight.
It is a struggle to stop gaining weight, even though I dont eat much and exercise.
My doctor says I just have a slow metabolism, but no thyroid or other problems.
I recently read that caffeine has been linked to obesity in some individuals.
I can remeber my mother giving me sweet coffee and cream as a child.Othe kids thought it was weird, but my mother was 'unusual'.
Could this have effected my developing endocrine system?
I am presently not a heavy drinker, but am unable to function or think clealy unless I have had at least two cups.
I did quit a year ago but got painfull headaches and listlessness so I had to start again.Thanks.

Answer
Dear Barry,

Thank you for question, your email has now come through.

Coffee is actually high in pesticides unless it is certified organic coffee. In general it interferes with insulin control and stimulates the adrenals.

The endocrine system is mainly affected by emotional/mental stress. This can be counteracted by the use of self-observation or self awareness during the day, wherever you are. Watch and become aware of the mind, as the body will reflect emotionally and physiologically the state the mind falls into. Observation of the mind helps one calm, stop and reverse reactions. The eyes should be noted here as well. Generally when one is stressed or going to react to an external event/situation, it is not only areas of the brain that tighten, but the eyes as well. Keeping the eyes/brain relaxed as much as possible is important. One can learn how to relax by observing an un-relaxed and tight muscle, then on a feeling level producing the opposing effect, and prolonging it.

I would also sincerely recommend sleeping early every night, this benefits the adrenals as well as helps one deal with stress better. There is also something else you can do to help stress, as we are surrounded by harmful EM Fields (electro-magnetic fields) in our homes, work environments and so on, and this contributes to building cellular and mental stress,  look into a product called the Q-link SRT-3. It is a pendant that provides personal protection against the damaging effects of EM radiation.

One can also neutralize EM Radiation in one's home or work environment completely by use of the holographic technologies found here: http://www.safespace.net.tf/

The products:  "safe space-1" and "energy strips" take care of all radiation in one's environment.

Now, as i remember there is an effective way to ease out of the difficulty of cutting coffee. There is a plant called yerba mate which grows naturally in the amazon rain forest. Its leaves are used as a drink. Under a microscope it is chemically very similar to caffeine, however, the difference is that is actually provides natural minerals, vitamins, saponins and polyphenols.

You would take this product daily and it will in effect help your body get rid of the need for caffeine, because not only is it chemically similar to caffeine, but provides what caffeine cannot on a nutritional level. Therefore the body takes to it well.

Read about it here: http://www.tryfrutavida.com/main/fvjuice.htm

The product found at the above website is the best organic nutritional product containing the yerba mate. It also stimulates metabolism which can help one loose weight.  As for dosage; i would say 2 ounces per day, on an empty stomach.

Furthermore, in regards to weight loss, i would advise (besides exercise) more sunshine. Believe it or not lots of sunshine (without the use of sun screen of course) helps quite a bit. Finally re-training the omentum (that is attached to the stomach) is a good idea. Eat foods high in fibre when you are hungry. Cut out enriched wheat flour.

General Dietary Recommendations:

Cut out all soy products, except fermented soy. Miso, tempeh and natural soy sauce are healthy. [fermented]

Soy contains goitrogens which depress thyroid functions. It also contains phytic acid, which hinders the body's ability to absorb proteins, calcium, magnesium, iron and zinc. In general, it is an enzyme inhibitor.

Do not drink pasteurized milk as it is quite harmful. Take only certified organic or raw milk.

Make sure you avoid all artificial sweeteners:
splenda, sucralose, aspartame, nutra-sweet, equal, acesulfame potassium.

Splenda/sucralose has become very popular these days and is just as toxic as aspartame. These sweeteners are found in store bought vitamins, protein powders, anything sugar-free, gum, chocolate, soda... etc.  Therefore please read labels carefully.

Both soy and artificial sweeteners compromise the immune system.

Cut out all margarine and hydrogenated fats. Cut out canola, rapeseed and soybean oils.
These are unhealthy. Replace with butter, ghee, unrefined coconut oil, sesame oil, and virgin olive oil.

7 glasses of water per day is a good idea to help flush out toxins from the body. Warm or room temperature water, never cold. Never drink tap water. It must be filtered. Avoid drinking distilled water. It leads to mineral depletion and hair loss.
