QuestionDear Tonya Wells:
I am a 49 year old white female, 5'5", 220 lbs. Almost over menopause; still have hot flashes and mood swings. Take .75 mcg Synthroid for hypothyroidism. For over 20 yrs, have been told nothing was wrong with me - all tests continually come out great (blood, thyroid, colesteral, diabetes, etc.) Cannot lose weight, cannot find energy to exercise and take care of family and job. Want my life back! Am very careful about my diet - mostly whole foods - because of migraines. (which have lessened since my coming off of Effexor 1 year ago.) Do not have medical insurance as we are self-employed. Always have some little thing wrong with me. Have had therapy off and on, have been on Prozac, Wellbutrin, Effexor, weaned myself off the Effexor and WILL NOT take anything like these medications again. My family (adoring husband, great kids, the usual stuff at work - we have a good life) are very concerned about me, and so am I. I tend to stay home, only want my family for company, etc. I am weary of this! Do you have any recomendations?
AnswerWith all of your health concerns I would suggest you work closly with an health consultant. I do offer phone consults if you are not able to find someone in your area.
For thyroid I would look at doing Thyroid Support. This can be taken with synthroid.
Natural health consults usually look at blood work differently than MD's. I would wonder if the cholesterol is too low or if the liver is congested.
I would begin working with my blood type diet. The book "Eat Right for Your Type" would be a great place to begin.
With migraines that usually means liver needs to be balanced. I would start working with the liver. If depression has been an issue that usually means a congested liver and you would want to build it and not cleanse but this would be information I would need before suggesting anything in this area.
Feverfew works well for explosive migraines.
For hotflashes I would work with a formula called C-X.
