Alternative Medicine/energy healing

Question
Hello,
I am very interested in energy healing. I bought a book called energy medicine and it is fascinating. I would very much like to have an energy healing. But need to know what to expect. How long do they take? What is the average cost? How do you find a practicioner in your area? What is the patients part during this healing. Do you just lay there doing nothing? or are you talking anwnsering questions during. Do you need more than one session. What kind of help can you expect to receive.  So many questions, sorry. I just like to be well informed before I get involved in something. I'm so glad I found this site, to ask all these questions. Look forward to your response, Susan Kelly

Answer
Hi Susan,

Thanks for the great question.

When you say energy healing/medicine, you are using a generic term.  There are many methods, and names to the work we all do. Reiki, chi, hands-on, prayer etc. So the time it will take will depend on the practioner, and the method.

I will also extend that answer to your experiences, time on the table, and what to expect.

I'm not trying to be vague Susan, just to explain that there are many names for the same energy, and the experience varies and so does the cost.

If I were working with you at a distance (which I do over the phone) I would ask for essential information, name, age, condition, etc.  I would then set up a time for the work to be done.  I would advise you to follow your intuition as to what you needed to do during that time period.

Many times people feel more at ease and rested if they lay down during the work, but that will not effect my work. It's whatever fits your needs and belief system.

I would probably suggest that you rest for at least an hour. (Many times people will become so relaxed that they fall asleep, and rest for many hours.)

Yes, and if you were with me in person, you would just lay there and relax. . . just lay there, while I work.

If a person is comfortable I might ask a question or two, and let you ask anything you like during the session, although, most likely you'll eventually go into a meditative state that is total relaxation.

Cost can range from nothing as in a church laying on of hands to hundreds of dollars.  I personally charge $45.00.

How many sessions?

Many practioners will advise you that you need several sessions of their work.  I would offer you a single session with the option that we could do another follow up session if you feel the need.  I am not in the practice of asking  people to continue, as I like to see the healing taking place immediately, with no need for follow-up.

I have seen all kinds of results Susan, from feeling better, mind, body, spirit, to total remission from illnesses, to bones mending.  Really exciting stuff.

Check out this website, it's where I work and I think you might find it very interesting.   www.ozarkresearch.org

If I can be of further assistance to you, let me know.
