Alternative Medicine/about eye problems...
Expert: Brenda Martin - 12/11/2005
QuestionThank you for your answer Brenda, it's an amazing story! I just wnated to ask one other question: about the B vitamin complex, what is the daily value of the B vitamins there? Just regular 100%, or is it a supervitamin with a stronger dose (for example, I have a C vitamin that is 1500% daily value OF vitamin C)
Thank you again,
Katerina

Dear Katrina, I had "reocurring corneal ulcers" the dr. and the various hospitals tried everything, they were baffled, I was losing my sight and there was "nothing they could do about it" After 2 years of tests etc. the hospital's conclusion was; " you have lost half the sight in your right eye and the left is beginning to go the same" all they could offer (after I went blind) was "Corneal transplants"
Depressed and downhearted I went to this clinic I had heard of that dealt in alternative medicine, I was one of these people who was skeptical, but hey, I had nothing to lose ,so my hubby and I went along.
They tested me on this machine (learned since it is called Vegatesting)and quite matter of fact the woman said; "oh yes I can see whats wrong ,you are lacking in Vitamin B" she went on to explain that if a person is on medication long term (which I am for epilepsy)the drugs "eat away at the vitamins in your body", mm I thought, makes sense. We need Vitamin B to repair and maintain (among other things) the eyes.
She told me what Vitamins I will need to take and I skepticaly asked; "how long will they take to cure my eyes?" to which she replied; "in under a week" I was not convinced, but my husband was estatic.I took the Vitamins every day as told, after all I had nothing to lose.
That was a Wednesday and I had an appointment at the hospital the following Monday (less than a week)I was free of pain from the minute I took the Vitamins, so I knew I was getting better, but I didnt say anything to the Specailist who had been called in to see me.
To cut a long story short, he was annoyed that he had been "taken away from more serious patients to see me" he kept looking at my notes then looking at my eyes, and finally said "I dont know whats going on here, all I see is minor abrasions from past scars" the reason he was shocked is, when I had been sent previously to the Eye hospital in London they said; "all 5 layers of my cornea were irepairably scarred"
so you can see why this Specialist was baffled, his final conclusion was; " I cant see anything today, but it is Genetic (first I'd heard) and you will be back", these words have rung in my ears often over the last 11 years.
Now for the exciting part, I took myself off to the Optician a couple of years ago, out of curiosity, and you ought to have seen her face, she said "what have you been doing with your eyes?" I told her I had been taking Vitamin B Complex daily, she nodded her head and said "one time her gran was having bother with her eyes and she told her to take Vitmain B and it helped her".
She said "not only have you cured the problem you had with your eyes but you now have 20/20 vision, you will not need these glasses now, put them away in a drawer" (fantastic eh!)
So to date, I have never been back to the hospital, dont have glasses anymore and an added bonus, I have also never taken a seizure since that day. Before going to the clinic I had taken at least 1 seizure a month since age 15 (Im now 50)
So you can imagine I am quite passionate about the subject, now as for Vitamins, I have been taking 1 Vitamin B Complex daily & 1 Multivitamin & mineral tablet daily.
I dont know where you live, but I went to the Tollhouse Therapy Clinic in Braco, Perthshire, Scotland.Failing that make sure you go to a health food store for your vitamins or better still, order them from the website; "Natures Own" they are the company that supply the clinic's Vitamins. All Vitamins are not the same, some are mixed with foreign substances such as talc, so the body sees it as waste and does not absorb it.So it is important to go to the right place for them. Natures Own is one of the good ones.
all the best and please let me know how you get on.
Brenda

AnswerHi Katrina, Im looking on the bottle here and it just says-
VITAMIN B COMPLEX
plus vitamin c
On the Natures own website there are a few Vitamin B Complex, just look for the one that says "plus vitamin c"
Just regular 100%
But these ones I recieve must be stronger or made better (Natures Own) because if I have run out and went to the Health food store to get them, I found myself having to take 2 of theirs a day, instead of my usual 1.
The clinic later said to my daughter (who is also taking vitamins) "if you run out, by all means go to a health food store, however you will most likely need to take 2 instead of your usual 1"
The tablets you get from Natures Own are "food state" which means the ingredients are bound together with food, so the body sees it as completely natural and absorbs it all, giving you the full benefit.
Perhaps these others have foreign substances in them (I dont know)and it dilutes their benefit.
all the best
Brenda
