Question
Hi I am 37 and healthy -My whole family has a long history of heart disease and bypass surgeries -What is the healthiest diet to consume to avoid those problems and  and why ?
Is a raw diet with no animal products a good way to go ?
What causes the plaque build up in the arterial walls?

Answer
Hi Tom,
The risk factorsa for plaque deposits in blood vessels include: smoking, high fat diet, diabetes, sedentary lifestyle, high blood pressure.
For an optimal diet I recommend you see a dietician/nutritionist. Most hospitals have one on staff and they do outpatient consulting.
