Question
Hi:

I would like to know which nutritional supplements or herbs should an hypoglycemic person (without diabetes) avoid?

Is it ok to take multi vitamin supplements like Centrum?

Thanks,
Roberto

Answer
Hi Roberto -- for the hypoglycemic person, the 'basic' nutritional supplements would be quite beneficial -- including a Multi, Vit C, Vit E, and particularly B-complex.   The other recommendation I would make is soy protein -- this is excellent for hypoglycemia because it levels out the blood sugar so you don't get the up and down bouncing around that can occur.   I have seen excellent results with Shaklee's Shaklee Basics and Energizing soy protein.   Most herbs are fine and beneficial including ginseng and ginkgo biloba.   Be careful with herbs in that you know they are pure and you are getting what is inside the bottle.  This is why I trust and recommend Shaklee because of its efficacy and quality as well as the testing of the raw ingredients, quality control and integrity behind the products.   You can learn more at www.shaklee.net/integrativewellness.   If you have any questions, let me know.   Best of health to you.   Suzanne
