Alternative Medicine/severe pms and treatments

QuestionI have a very severe form of pms. Causing depression, suicidal thoughts, marriage falls apart, uncontrolable mood swings, etc... It only lasts one week a month, right before my period. The rest of the time, I am a pleasant person, with a good outlook and a happy marriage.
I use herbs and homeopathics and are very pleased with them, with all other aspects of my health. This one thing though, I can't seem to control with "nature". I'm scared to do medications or birth control. What could I do naturally?
I have tried b vitamins, calcium, magnisium, red rasberry leaf tea, various homeopathics and a "female formula".
My mother is a master herbalist. She made me a female formula, it helped more than anything (I'm not sure what was in it.) But, the thing is, mom doesn't have time to make it for me all the time and I have no idea how to make it. Not to mention time is limited, with a two year old and another one on the way. (not pregnant, adopting...no infertility problems)
I have never had any kind of birth control. I'm nerveous to take it, or any other perscription drug, long term. Suggestions?
AnswerDear Christina,
First I would tell your mother how desperate you feel and you really need her formula. I would not recommend any medications. If she will write down her formula, I will be happy to help you obtain what is needed and instructions for preparation. I also am a master herbalist. The Bible is really interesting when it comes to women dealing with periods. They used to actually get a "week outside of camp," which is my remedy of choice, but nobody does it. It would be wonderful if you could forewarn your husband and maybe just stay away from the main rooms of life for that week, as much as possible. I'm sure, he would rather take up a little slack with household chores as have his wife and marriage in the pits every month.
Get back to me. If your mom will write down the formula, we'll get it going, if not, I have a formula for a tincture, that has gotten pleasing results. I don't want you just grasping at straws, but black cohosh, red raspberry, squawvine, and dong quay are some of the main female herbal supplements.
I will pray you have a better month.
Kind Regards,
Kindred
