Question
Imran,
I hope you do not mind another question from me.
i wrote you awhile back on CFS and you told me about TF.  i trust your knowledge because you said you had CFS.
I since have done a little research on TF and before i start the protocol you suggested, i wanted to ask you a few more questions:

1.  I guess there was a "scare" about TF when the mad cow disease came around. have you heard of anything with this?

2.  I read the 4life web site and they said that they are the only ones that have a patent on TF.
but i also found a company called prolife who is selling it. have you hear about these guys?

3.  in your opinion, would taking TF conflict in anyway if a person was to also try the vitamin c drip therapy?

any info you can give would be great. i know this is just an opinion web site, and you are not my doctor, but i am excited about TF.
thanks.

Answer
Dear Leah...

It is nice to hear from you once more.
Forgive me, i did not follow up with you, as i have been extremely busy with people asking for advice, and for the transfer factor.  Sometimes, it seems the whole day just goes by, and i don't even realize!

Now, to answer your questions: Your questions are Valid, and are very good indeed, i am Glad you asked them.
I will give you my answer, but i also emailed our science department for more information and they have provided additional details on your answer to me this morning.
So i will paste their answer below mine:

"1. I guess there was a "scare" about TF when the mad cow disease came around. have you heard of anything with this?"

Alright, you are not the only one who is concerned! I too was VERY Concerned, and questioned the company when the scare was at its height. So what i found out at that time, is that the Cows on their Washington Farm, are a Government Certified Organic Grade A farm. Where inspections are conducted very regularly. Grass is not to be sprayed with anything, cows cannot be given any sort of anti-biotics or so, their feed is Organic and pure...
the animals are treated kindly, and are in good health/good conditions. Their cows were 100% free, or i should say sheltered from this terrible man-made disease.

"2. I read the 4life web site and they said that they are the only ones that have a patent on TF.
but i also found a company called prolife who is selling it. have you hear about these guys?"

This one i wondered about also: Well have you heard of Shirley's Wellness cafe? Well she lives in Beverly Hills California, and is a BIG promoter of the 4Life transfer factor products. When she heard that this other company was making transfer factor---she was FURIOUS at 4Life!
So 4Life investigated them, and is still in investigation of their products. But what i heard from this, is that the
transfer factor name itself it seems cannot be patented---
But the 4Life extraction process is Patented, as it is the safest and most advanced extraction process in the industry. So this is patented... and so are the combinations of TF that they use...  for example the TF-Advanced contains TF from Eggs and Milk. -One other thing to note that is very interesting, is that the Russian Government--NIH, have given full approval to Medical Doctors and Hospitals as of last month i believe, towards the 4Life TF and TF Plus to be used to treat their patients---over ALL prescription drugs. So it is being used as a preventative measure, and as a Cure. Their Government was very careful as to who they got it from...
they chose 4Life after the Russian Immunologists tested all the products, and came back with astounding results.

-I also found out that about 6 Million people in China are already using the Transfer Factor specifically catered towards an antigen-response. To eradicate herpes i believe.

3. in your opinion, would taking TF conflict in anyway if a person was to also try the vitamin c drip therapy?

I feel it should be just fine, as vitamins C is an anti-oxidant after all. I only wonder if you will actually need this drip therapy, as the TF is very effective at raising and balancing Immune responses.

Now below, i have pasted the answer from our science/product support department:

Take Care, and if you have any more questions, please ask.

Leah,

Thank you for your question's we gladly answer all of them,

Leah, the first question it's all about the source of our colostrum let me illustrate the quality that goes into the source of our transfer factors.

  1.  All of the dairy herds that produce colostrum for processing are US FDA and USDA Grand A dairy farms. As such the farm and milk must meet the standards of state and federal milk quality ordinances, including the Pasteurized Milk Ordinance (PMO). These state and federally inspected farms produce milk for the Grade A Fluid Milk Market. Milk from these farms is sold in the market.
  2. It is unlawful to use antibiotics in lactating dairy cattle that will give rise to violable levels of antimicrobial drugs. All tanker truckloads of milk are tested in all processing plants for violable residues. Contaminated milk cannot be used for fluid or processing milk purposes. The financial penalties are severe and dairy producers have redundant management schemes in place to assure that residues do not occur. USDA and FDA statutes prohibit use of antibiotics as a feed supplement in lactating dairy cattle.
  3. Our inquiry revealed that the dairy farms that produce raw colostrum for processing do not use hormones intended to increase milk production, including rBST.
  4. All colostrum is pasteurized in a proprietary process to assure its microbial safety and quality. Moreover, the ultra-filtration process will remove all known microorganisms. Once dried the powder is tested for viable microbes.
  5. The agent associated with "Mad Cow Disease" (Bovine Spongiform Encephalopathy, (BSE)) has NOT been identified in the United States dairy herd. Additionally, there is no evidence of milk borne transmission in the English experience with BSE and the 36 Crutzfeldt-Jakobs Disease (CJD) patients. See the 4Life product quality statement.
  6. All other ingredients in the Transfer Factor™ product line are "Food Grade" as defined by the US FDA Center for Food Safety and Applied Nutrition and meet the US FDA GRAS (Generally Regarded As Safe) definition.
  7. All products and processing meet the requirements of the Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPS) Ordinance.

For the second question, the company it's called ProHealth, we know about it and we are reviewing the company and the product, we let you know as soon as we know more.

For your 3rd question there are no conflicts with the therapy and the Transfer Factors.  As always you should consult a medical professional before you start any new dietary supplement .
