Alternative Medicine for Pets/Feline Oral Cancer

Question
Our cat has been diagnosed with oral cancer. We were shown x-rays indicating the tumor is deteriorating the bones of his jaw and occipital cavity. He has been given only a few weeks to live. However neither we nor our pet seem to be ready to give up without a fight. The question is what to fight with? I have been pouring over the internet looking for holistic remedies for feline cancer and have found a few but would very much like your suggestions. For background info: Our boy has been a healthy, feisty guy until August of this year when his oral problems began with several deteriorating teeth that had to be extracted. He has never fully recovered from this surgery and has thus been diagnosed with cancer. He has been on antibiotics for months with no response. Now he is on pain medication and steroids again with the diagnosis of “not long to live”. What more can we do? We received news of his cancer just today. 11-21-08. Thank you for your response.

Answer
Oh Kat - I am so sorry you kid has oral cancer!
As you know, there is not much you can do but keep him comfortable and free of pain.  I wish that I could offer you some supplements. Most supplements and vitamins take time.  Your cat doesn't have much time and it would be wrong of me to suggest you spend money on supplements.

Again, just give lots of love and company.....
Keep your cat kid free from pain.

That is all you can do for your pal
I am so very sorry....
