Alternative Medicine for Pets/dog not eating

Question
Hi, I have a 2 year old tricoloured collie who is very picky about eating. He will sometimes eat the cat's food but leave his alone. He goes for days without eating and then devours food but is picky about what he devours. What can I do to get him to eat properly. He was not this way when he was a puppy but perhaps for 6 months now he will choose when and what to eat but I am afraid he is not getting enough to eat because of this behaviour. What can I do to get him back on track? Thanks so much for any help you can give me.

Answer
Hi Pat - cat food has too much protein in it... So try to put the cat food at a place your Collie can't reach it???? Be creative.
Ok, let's try this kid on the Merrick Dog Stews..... YOU can find this brand at most pet stores.  Place the innova Evo dry dog food with some Merrick canned stew on top.
I would like you to find Innova EVO and Merrick at your local pet store.
Start your collie out on this mixture 2 x per day in very small amounts.  Still offer your other dog food for a few weeks.  So, the new food along with a dish of the old food.  He may not eat the old food but offer it just for a back up choice.
Also, some dogs like a little sprinkle of parmesan cheese on top of the dog food....for taste.

Also, please order some NuVET vitamins wafers for this kid.
Give 1 or even 1/2 per day of this Supplement....It is good for him and may help to build his appetite and immune system.
