Alternative Medicine for Pets/Cat

Question
HI, this is about my cat Sweetie Pie. Here is her story. About 2 months ago I
noticed the skin around my cats right eye was irratated. I hoped it would go
away on its own but it did not. So, I took her to our vet. They gave her two
types of eye drops, one for the skin and one to put in the eye. While at the vet
they noticed she had two blisters on her gums and recommended dental
surgery. A week later we took her in for the dental surgery. When I picked her
up from the vet, I knew something was wrong with her more than just
groggyness from the meds. But I took her home hoping that I was wrong and
she would be fine once the meds wore off. She was not fine and we took her
back the next day. She was very weak, had no control over her bowls or
bladder and seemed to be loosing her vision. We took her back to the vet the
next day and they looked at her eyes. She seemed to respond to the light they
pointed at her and sent us home with no further treatment. We gave it
another day but she seemed to be worse, very sick, would not eat and
definitally something wrong with her vision....this is a long story, basically,
we took her in for a red watery eye, later that week she had dental surgery
and basically came out blind. Now, about two months later and close to
$1000 in tests and meds, no clear diagnosis has been given. She seems to
have recovered her sight but the original reason we took her in, the irritated
eyes, have not improved. She seems to have a sty on her lower left eye lid
now and both are draining clear fluid pretty often. She has been on two
rounds of antibiotics and various eye drops with no improvement. She had a
nose bleed a while back and I rushed her to the vet, they put her on more anti
biotics. The nose bleed did not happen again but the watery eyes are still
there. She also seems to be loosing weight, she eats and drinks plenty but I
can feel her little bones now. I am tired of taking her to these expensive vets
that seem to do more harm than good. I want to seek natural treatments to
see if that helps. The vet thought she had an upper respitory infection, and
that may be I don't know. She does seem to sneeze a lot lately.
I know it is difficult to treat or diagnose a pet without seeing them but is
there any advice you can give me? Or do you know of a way I can find a local
practitioner who knows about natural health stuff for pets? Is there a network
of them I can look up? Thank you for your time.

Answer
Karen - Wow! Poor you and poor cat, too!  YOU know sometimes the just can't figure what had or has taken place in a pet's health and even a human's... I am sure they did all that they have been trained to do for you...
HOW about a Holistic VET - Do a google search for Holistic Vet offices in your area...YOU may find one an hour away...YOU never know unless you do a search.

NOW, as for me : we can try some supplements to help the red eyes and the sneezes....Also, add some humidification to your home - place a big pan of water in the rooms - Place this up high so no CAT or Dog can drink it.  YOU may also want to place a humidifier in the room your cat spends most of the time in.

Supplements:  I would like to see you put her on 3 - all low cost and Safe/ Natural:

1.
ALJ Liquid by Nature's Sunshine:  Place child's dosage in her water bowl or into some wet food, daily.... ( long term and Natural)

I EVEN take this- great to have around....
