Question

Darla
I have a 5 year old yellow lab. She has food allergies and we finally found the right food for her, but now we have new problems. We are feeding her Canidae and it is giving her terrible room clearing gas and we have a new born baby so she is not getting the exercise she needs right now and she has gained a lot of weight. I have no idea what to do. I love her so much and just want her to be comfortable and healthy. Any suggestions?

Answer
Well, the Canidae may be helping her gain some weight... Depends on which one you put her one.  If Canidae makes a senior formula, you may want to try that for your Darla.  I know you want allergy free formula but get the senior choice....LESS calories

Next, yes, I understand the gas and wonder if you should try a Probiotic for Darla.  A good one is Flora Force by Nature's Sunshine - I would give her 2 per day for 10 days and then just 1 per day for 3 weeks.  This will take care of a possible over growth of yeast in her belly.

This also works great on breath and general odor:
YOU can give her the adult dosage / very safe - place in her water bowl daily.

CHLOROPHYLL, LIQUID (16 FL OZ)

Benefits:
•Helps promote the natural blood-cleansing functions of the body.
•Promotes strong immune response.
•Strengthens cells.
•Deodorizes the body, including the bowel.

Well, I sure hope this helps...
