QuestionQUESTION: i have a 8 yr. old female mixed breed around 70 lbs. she has a tear in the knee ligment (acl ligament) can this be taken care of with out surgery? thanks ,.Frank.
ANSWER: Hi Frank - Many vets will tell you that you must have surgery... This is not always true. Here is a wonderful web site for you to visit: She has some Extensive info for you...
http://home.earthlink.net/~tiggerpoz/id13.html
She starts out by saying:
Treating Canine Ligament Injury Without Surgery
We read on vets' websites and hear from them in their offices that the surgery they recommend is the best treatment for our dogs' ligament injuries. We assume there must be a solid foundation of evidence supporting vets' recommendations.
--- But is there?
As you consider ligament injury treatment options, bear in mind that there is a lot of poorly-supported opinion presented as though it were fact on the various vets' websites and in their offices.
Frank - If you would like my help there are a few supplements and oils that I would refer you to ....most can be found at your local health food store...
Let me know if you want my help.
Also, I will need to know what country your reside in...
So, if can point you in the right direction.
BEST wishes

QUESTION: hi Marie,.thanks for helping me! yes if u would, what supplements and oils would u suggest? my dog is on medication from the vet. cephalexin 500mg and prednisolne 20mg. should i wait for the medication to end? or can i mix? thanks again ..Frank
AnswerOh, Yes, we can mix the supplements in with the antibiotic and steroid from your vet. JUST make sure you vet knows you are going the Natural Route along with His/her medications... Keep your vet up-to-date on any vitamins, oils and food changes...
My suggestions are ALL natural and Safe and will not cause any troubles to your current program from your VET.
OK- here is my plan for your girl...
1. Ginger (2) per day ( 1 in the am and 1 in the pm) Hide in food - Ginger can reduce inflammation of the joints....
VERY safe:
I refer many folks to Nature's sunshine ginger:

2. NEXT, Vitamin E is a must:
1 would give 2 per day for 1 week, then just 1 per day : long term:
Vitamin E is very safe: even long term this dosage is low....
( make sure your vet knows your giving supplements)

3. Last - A Must is NuJOINT Plus - This gives you a 60 day money back guarantee - I would give 3 per day - long term.....
VERY safe and effective.
NuJoint Plus™ Ingredients
MSM supplies biologically active sulfer to animals joints. Use of MSM has been shown to reduce the rigidity of cells in the soft tissues of the body. By reducing this rigidity, fluids are able to pass more freely from the cell and this helps to reduce cell pressure, thereby reducing inflammation and pain.
Glucosamine provides the joints with the building blocks needed to repair the damage caused by osteoarthritis . Acting as a catalyst, glucosamine helps animals synthesize new cartilage needed to replace damaged cartilage caused by wear and tear. Hip dysplasia occurs when normal wear and tear break down cartilage.
Chondroitin attracts and holds fluid within cartilage tissue helping to lubricate joints, increase mobility and reduce discomfort caused by hip dysplasia. Chondroitin neutralizes the destructive enzymes that are known to damage and destroy cartilage. Chondroitin aids the entry of glucosamine into inflamed joints.
Vitamin C promotes cartilage growth and tissue repair.
Vitamin C is a key factor in the immune system, helping white blood cells function. Prolonged vitamin c deficiency will cause existing tissues to deteriorate.
