Question
I have been giving my dogs glucosamine with chondrotin one of which has arthritis(lab) the other is an elderly (shepherd mix).  I just noticed that the food i give them also has glucosamine/chondrotin in it.  Is this ok? or have they been getting to much?  I give them the recommended dose of glucosamine liquid formula for their body weight according to the bottle.  This seems to have made a difference in my lab the one that has the arthritis.  She is not limping as much.  I also give them fish oil.

Answer
Hello Candice: Please continue to add the supplement to your doggie's diet.  The food. most of the time. will not include enough glucosamine and chondroitin sulfate.

***Many times, both glucosamine and chondroitin sulfate may break down when subjected to the heat or extreme pressure in the manufacturing process of commercial dog food.

Also, here is a great daily vitamin supplement - the Number One in the USA.  It will help keep your dogs healthy and well for the rest of the lifetime...

Make sure the supplement you are giving is Natural and one of the best you can buy.  If not, the above link also has a wonderful product called Nu Joint Plus, which had the glucosamine and chondroitin combination mix.

Good question.  Thanks and I hope that this has helped you.
