Question
QUESTION: My cat Miss Pooh has been sick for about a year. She will be 13 this July. She is about 6 lbs or less by now.  I originally went to the vet because she was vomiting and had diaherra. The vet gave her Clavamox more than once and it helped for a while. They finally put her on Purina OM for the bulk needed in her stools. Most days she has solid stools but sometimes she has bm's 2x and the second is runny. She will never gain weight on that product which worries me. They did blood and urine work which came out ok.

Can you help?

Mary

ANSWER: Hi Mary - I would change here for to Innova Senior Cats - it has the x-tra protien and fiber she needs.  Change this slowly over a two week period of time... Do 1/2 her food and 1/2 the Innova cat food ... After 2 week go to 100% Innova.

also, let's get her on a Probiotic gel- Here is an example of one to look for - They sell Innova Cat food and Probiotics in your local pet store.

QUESTION: I do believe Miss Pooh was on Innova food before she got sick. But I'm willing to try this product again and if I remember she liked it. What will the Probiotic gel do for her?

Mary

Answer
Hi Mary : try her on Innova - Do the change over in 5 weeks ....very, very slowly - You can do 1/4 the new food and 3/4 the old food x 2 weeks, Then, after the 2 weeks :
You can go 1/2 and 1/2 .... At the 6th week - go 100% the new food.

A probiotic will help her belly to stay balance and stop any overgrowth of yeast.  Also, it will help her to digest all foods and utilize the vitamins.  VERY helpful and Low cost

Let me know if a few weeks if she likes the change over to Innova..
Do it very slowly - so not to shock her belly and system.

We have nothing to loose and everything to gain!!!!
