Alternative Medicine for Pets/natural solution for rat w/ CHF

Question
Hi! I'm talking to a rat expert here on allexperts.com about my rat who she thinks may have congestive heart failure, and I was wondering what your thoughts are on a natural diuretic.  He is in pretty bad shape and I don't have a rat vet in this area. I work w/ an ND and at a natural vit. store and was thinking about giving him some coQ10, magnesium, and maybe some L-carnitine or something.  What are your ideas about how to help naturally w/ CHF? Thanks so much!

Answer
Hi:  I am sorry about your rat.  The best thing would be to go and get a lasix shot.  This will reduce the fluids around his heart.  There is not much coQ10 can do if he is this bad off....
Most of the time, your pal would need to see a VET in order to save him.

Sorry that I can't be of more help to you.
