Alternative Medicine for Pets/Is Aloe poisonous for dogs

Question
My peke licks her feet until they get red and raw and recently I decided to put fresh aloe gel (cut right from the plant) into her toes. She threw up the next day (just once and is OK), but has not licked her feet much since then. Is it safe to use aloe? Is it poisonous to dogs? Was her vomiting related to the aloe?

Answer
Hi Jane - from what I understand :  Aloe is fine and not toxic to any dogs or pets.  Here is a link for you to review:

If you baby is itching and licking crazy, then I would suggest a new food for you kid.  Please let me know what foods you are feeding.  Also, what breed is your dog?

Thanks

Marie
