Subject: Cat & Kitten Skin Problems

Question
I have 2 generations of cats and kittens that have various skin problems.  Several have what I think is mange and several (not necessarily the same ones) have bumps on their skin up to 2 mm in size.  I need any information about what I can do naturally.  I think oral herbs might work best, if possible. These are not housecats (well, a few are) so it's difficult for me to dip them or apply creams or lotions.  Any help will be greatly appreciated.  Thank you.

Answer
Hi Suzanne
Dipping is not recommended in any case as it is highly toxic and these toxins will enter your cats' blood stream, causing all sorts of problems in the future.
Firstly you need to look at their diet - NO commercial foods at all.  Only raw and natural meals.
Secondly, have a look at Robert McDowell's website - he is a herbalist who specializes in animals - www.herbal-treatments.com
He has remedies for mange etc.. that will work at the root of the problem and will not be adding more toxic waste to the animal's body.  It is best to email him first so he can get the correct remedy out to you.  The remedies cost about $60 each but will last you several months.
It is helpful if you have a diagnosis from a vet, but if not Robert should be able to work through it with you.  The possibilities include mange or ringworm.  But it could also be some other cause.
That is the best solution I can offer you at this stage without any further diagnosis.
With thanks,
Silva.
