Question
Are there any natural remedies for cushings disease in dogs and/or decreasing anxiety after knee surgery. Tried bachs rescue remedy with no results.
Thanks

Answer
Hi Judy:  As for the anxiety, did you ask your vet for an anti-anxiety drug just for a short period of time?  There are many that are very low dose and will " take the edge off" for your post-surgical kid.

Here are some Natural Options for Cushings, along with your Vet's supervision....

See if there is a Homeopathic/Holistic Vet in your area...

Homeopathic remedies have been effective when this condition is diagnosed in its early stages...

Homeopathic Pituitary - This remedy is historically made from the posterior lobe of the pituitary gland and is offered to aid in balancing the actions of the gland. It is given in low potencies (30c) over a long period of time and monitored closely.

Homeopathic Formic Acid has been very effective in early stages and has a history of restoring the health of the animal as well as restoring the coat. A potency of 6x has been most effective, given over a period of 1-2 months.

Other alternatives include a variety of herbs such as kelp, nettle, rosehips, wormwood, burdock, milk thistle, garlic, clivers, clover, and apple cider vinegar.  Herbs should be given in tincture and monitored closely.  Here is a link to some Herbals for Cushings:

Also a good supplement ( Immune System Booster) NuVET Plus:
A wafer treat for your pal... Good taste and Great help for dogs of all ages and stages

Guaranteed taste or your money back...
Not sold in stores...

BEST wishes on all!!
I know things are limited with Cushings.... Just find the best you can.  Trial and Error.
