Question
Is fresh garlic better than powder?

Answer
Hi Charlene
I believe that Blastomycosis is caused by inhaling certain spores along river banks and in soil.  This is a very serious condition that needs medical vet attention.  Respiratory disease, blindness, lameness and death can all occur from this disease.  Garlic alone will not be sufficient to help your dog.
My suggestion is to get it under control with the recommended vet medications.  Once this has occurred then you can look into natural therapies that can help keep the bacteria away and rebuild your dog's immune system so he is less likely to suffer again.
Robert McDowell's Canine Conditioning Mix (www.herbal-treatments.com) is great for dogs who have been quite ill.  And adding an all-round canine supplement to daily meals would help as well.  If you can find Herbal Compound tablets then these are brilliant and contain garlic along with other potent, immune building, herbs.  Fresh raw garlic can cause tummy upsets in some animals.  So it is always best to buy a supplement that already contains the right amounts and right sort of garlic and herbs.
I hope this helps,
Silva.
