Subject: rash around one eye

Question
My puppy has a rash around one of his eyes, which wasn't there yesterday. Any
suggestions?

Answer
HI Nilsa
It really could be anything and hard to say without seeing it or a vet diagnosis.  If it has come on suddenly then it may be an allergic reaction to something he has eaten or a plant in the garden.  Or possibly an insect bite of some sort?  You can try bathing it in warm water with sea salt in it, and/or some calendula lotion around the eye can also be helpful.  Do not put anything inside the eye itself.  If it does not subside shortly then you may need to book in to see your vet.
Sorry I can't be more specific, but it is hard to know without seeing it or any further details.
Thanks,
Silva.
