Alternative Medicine for Pets/K9 Advantix?

I wanted to give my dog K9 Advantix but we have cats, and when I heard it could make them sick, I got confused. Is Revolution a better alternative?  Is K9 Advantix safe for my cats and dog?  They are very friendly and cuddle all the time, and I don't want to risk any of their health.
Please help!

Hi Gabriella:  Well, there can be side effects with anything you use that is not All Natural -  There are some All Natural mixes your can make and spray on your pets.  I understand they don't always work 100%!  Advantix has proven to be somewhat safe....
