Alternative Medicine for Pets/Hot spot on poodle

Question
Hello, I have a one year old standard poodle.  Female named Jazz.  Her hair was cut super short for the summer.  She has a hot spot on her hip, she just keeps liking and it's fairly pink and hair is basically gone there.  It doesn't bleed, but looks pretty bad.  I'm guessing it was a bug bite?  It's been about three days or so.
Thanks!!  Anne.

Answer
Hi Annie - You can give her some benadryl about 25 mg every 8 hrs.
Don't give more than 2 benadryl pills per day - they will make her sleepy.  Takes away the itching.

YOU may want to purchase some of this salve - Very low cost and will last a long time.  Good for hot spots and cuts ---- Just great to have on hand - heals and protects:
